Shared aircraft and fleet management for X-Plane 12. The Hot Start Challenger 650 is the only aircraft for now.
The shared aircraft that remembers
Several pilots, one aircraft, one logbook. You book it, you fly it in X-Plane, and when you close the sim parked it goes back with everything you did to it: the hours, the landing, the bugs on the windshield. The next pilot gets exactly that aircraft.
Book, fly, return
Book the aircraft in the app and it comes down to your X-Plane as the last pilot left it. Park, shut down, close X-Plane: the app uploads the aircraft and writes up the flight. Nobody else can take it while it is booked to you.
Book
One pilot at a time. The aircraft comes down to your PC as it was left.
Fly
The plugin records the flight. The others can watch it on the map.
Return
Park, shut down, close X-Plane. The app uploads the aircraft and writes the entry.
The fleet page shows where each aircraft is, who has it and what is next for you.
Judged like an operator does
Every flight is checked against the aircraft's limits and written on the technical log, one line per sector. A hard landing is a hard landing; the sheet says so. Press the button and fly one.
Sink rate and g at touchdown come from the recorder. The verdict goes on the sheet.
- The landingSink rate and g at touchdown. A hard landing means an inspection before the next flight.
- The hoursAirframe, engine and APU hours come from the aircraft's own recorder.
- The wearBugs on the windshield and dirt in the cabin build up sector after sector, and the plugin draws them in your cockpit.
| Date | Sector | Time | Landing | Entry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 26 Oct | LIMF to LSGG | 0:41 | firm, 1.6 g, 430 ft/min | note Within limits. The windshield is gathering bugs. |
| 27 Oct | LSGG to LFPB | 1:02 | normal, 1.2 g, 210 ft/min | note Engine 2 oil at 11.6 of 12 L, read from the servicing tank. |
| 28 Oct | LFPB to LIML | 1:14 | hard, 1.9 g, 710 ft/min | inspection due Hard landing. Gear and tyre inspection due before the next flight. |
- The limitsOverspeeds and engine exceedances go on the sheet with the peak and the limit.
- The sheetOne line per sector carries the notes, the warnings and the inspections due.
- The jobsWashing, cleaning, inspections and oil top-ups happen on a parked aircraft and take their time.
It wears, it fails, it gets dirty
Tyres and brakes wear with every landing, oil and oxygen are read from the aircraft, and inspections come due by the hour and by the calendar. Failures go through the aircraft's own failure system, and a part gets weak before it dies. The windshield gets dirty sector after sector, and the plugin draws it in your cockpit.
Bugs gather on the windshield until a wash takes them off. The tyres count their landings.
A hard landing at 710 ft/min and 1.9 g; the inspection closes the entry and the aircraft flies again.
The others see it fly
While somebody flies, the others see the aircraft on the map with its track and its numbers. A friend can watch from their own cockpit, or sit next to the pilot as crew. Afterwards the flight plays back on the map, verdict included.
The aircraft on the map with its numbers; one friend watches, another sits aboard.
Yours, shared as you choose
Put your airframe on ShariFly and keep it to yourself; the logbook starts all the same. Share it with a link when you like, or list it and approve who joins. The owner names captains, decides on a doubtful return, restores an earlier state, or hands the aircraft to someone else.
You decide who sees you and under which name: your full name, a short form, or your handle. Visitors without an account see nobody. How your data is kept.
Three parts, installed once
The website keeps the record. The app on your PC moves the aircraft in and out of X-Plane; it copies whole folders while the sim is closed and keeps a backup every time. The plugin inside X-Plane records the flight, shows who has the aircraft and draws the wear in the cockpit.
You need X-Plane 12.1.4 or later on Windows, macOS or Linux, a Discord account, and the Hot Start Challenger 650, the only aircraft for now. Getting started, or download the app for Windows now.
Questions
Is it a sharing tool or a fleet manager?
Both. It lends your aircraft to the pilots you let in, one at a time, and it keeps the books for your whole hangar: logbook, tech log, maintenance, live map.
Do I have to share?
No. Keep an airframe to yourself and the record is kept just the same. Share it later, or never.
Which aircraft?
The Hot Start Challenger 650 for X-Plane 12 is the only aircraft for now. It keeps its whole state in files, which is what the platform carries and judges. Other aircraft that do the same can follow.
Does it touch my add-on's files?
No. The app copies whole airframe folders in and out while X-Plane is closed, and keeps a backup of every booking. Failures go through the aircraft's own failure system, the way its failure menu does it.
What if my PC crashes in flight?
The aircraft stays yours for fifteen minutes. Load it again and the flight goes on. Past that the booking is released and nothing is written; the last good state stands.
Can a pilot cheat the logbook?
No. The platform keeps the only logbook. Every return is checked against what could really have happened while the aircraft was out, and a doubtful one waits for the owner's word.
What does it cost?
Nothing until the end of 2026. After that there will be a plan, and it will cover other aircraft too. Everyone is told before anything changes.
Is it finished?
No. It is an alpha: things break now and then, and they get fixed. Say what you find on the ShariFly Discord.
